Many of us remember Bamboleo, the hit 1987 tune from the French musical group Gipsy Kings. It was released on the band's eponymous album, which went gold and platinum across the world, and spent a whopping 40 weeks on the US charts.

Well, now you can see them perform it live as part of their performance at Dubai Opera on March 6.

The group's members may have been born in France but their music is decidedly Spanish. It's a mix of poppy flamenco melodies and songs that take their roots from traditional Catalan rumba. And it took the world by storm, as the Gipsy Kings introduced us to "Rumba Gitano". Other hit songs include Djobi Djoba and Baila Baila.

Andre Reyes, the founder of the group, will lead this UAE performance, which comes as part of their Tour Gipsy Unidos, with guests including Mario Reyes and Chico Castillo.

Jasper Hope, Dubai Opera's chief executive, said: "Their style is unique, their music is infectious and for 30 years the Gipsy Kings have thrilled audiences around the world."
