Five become four: Spice Girls to reunite for world tour without Victoria Beckham
Posh Spice didn't wannabe involved
Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice, has confirmed the Spice Girls will be reuniting for their first tour for a decade without Victoria Beckham.
Mel B and fellow bandmates Geri Horner, Melanie Chisholm and Emma Bunton released details of a UK-wide tour starting in 2019 on social media on Monday.
After the UK tour announcement was made, Beckham took to Instagram to confirm she would not be part of the reunion with a publicity picture of the four remaining Spice Girls.
Speaking to ITV's Loose Women, Mel B said there would also be a world tour to follow and said she hoped that Beckham, known as Posh Spice, would change her mind.
"It's just the four of us. I hope Victoria will join us at some point," she said before the official announcement.
"It'd be a shame if she didn't."
It is thought that Beckham, who along with her husband David Beckham is estimated to be worth £500 million, is busy concentrating on her career as a fashion designer.
The group, which formed in 1994, last performed together as a five-piece at the London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.
Rumours of a tour were ignited in February this year when a photo was posted to social media of all five Spice Girls, indicating they were working on new projects together.
The group have previously toured as a four-piece in 1998 after Geri Horner, aka Ginger Spice, left the band to pursue a solo career.
Having originally split in 2000, the Spice Girls reunited for a reunion tour in 2007, performing in 47 shows in the UK, the US, Canada, Germany and Spain.
