Keeping the spirit of The Beatles alive, Harvey Nichols in Dubai's Mall of the Emirates is celebrating an auspicious anniversary of the Fab Four in collaboration with the award-winning Beatles Story experience in the UK.

Trip Down Penny Lane …

Hot foot it down to Harvey Nichols this month to see exclusive photos, memorabilia and waxwork replicas of The Beatles. The luxury department store has teamed up with The Beatles Story cultural experience in the band's hometown of Liverpool, explains the managing director Jerry Goldman. "In August, it will be 50 years since Ringo joined John, Paul and George - creating The Beatles as most people know them."

Come Together…

"Liverpool as a city is celebrating all this year with a great programme of events and Harvey Nichols was inspired, wanting to celebrate Britain in some way or another with the Olympics and Jubilee happening in 2012," says Goldman. "So they thought: 'What could be more important than 50 years of The Beatles?' and we joined together."

Can't Buy Me Love …

...But can buy me some photographs. On display and up for grabs for around Dh10,000 each are a set of 39 limited-edition photographs taken from 1963 to 1964 by the Bafta-winning director Paul Berriff.

"About three years ago, Paul rediscovered the long-lost negatives in the attic," says Goldman.

"They are so different from most Beatles shots you'll see and we have a set on permanent display in Liverpool and another set for touring the world."

Buyers of the prints will also be automatically entered into a prize draw to win a trip to Liverpool.

All You Need is Love …

...And perhaps a pair of drainpipes? Set to inspire fashion-conscious shoppers browsing in-store, suit-clad Madame Tussauds figures of the band will be on display among both the men's and women's clothing.

"When The Beatles started playing, they wore leather jackets and when Brian Epstein took over managing them, he put them in those famous suits without collars.

"Then there were those wonderful Sergeant Pepper's jackets and then they went completely alternative in the flower-power days and psychedelic times," says Goldman.

"For women, I think The Beatles merchandise fits brilliantly alongside labels like Balenciaga and Nina Ricci in Harvey Nichols - it all blends beautifully together."

With a Little Help From My Friends …

The Fab Four's popularity shows no signs of abating, says Goldman. "If you come to Liverpool and witness The Beatles Story, nearly every day of the week you'll see groups of children waiting at the entrance, singing their hearts out to Beatles songs. You'll quickly realise this generation and the one after it will be taking their legacy forward."

I Wanna Hold Your Hand …

Well, you can on October 5, says Goldman, who's inviting Beatles fans around the world to gather in Liverpool for a mass performance of Love Me Do to celebrate its 50th birthday. Thousands are expected to link arms, forming a musical chain for the performance, which will be broadcast by the BBC.
