It's featured in films such as Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, but could Dubai be the set of a new K-pop music video?

Rumours suggest it appears likely, after pop stars Kai and Baekhyun, from supergroup Exo, were spotted in Dubai International Airport on Sunday.

The pair were filmed walking through arrivals by several excited fans, as they were accompanied by airport staff and security.

Rather than simply transiting through the city, the singers were videoed exiting the airport, confirming they are spending time in Dubai, rather than  only passing through.

Soompi, a K-pop news website, says that Kai and Baekhyun are in the UAE to film a music video with SuperM, a new South Korean group in which the two stars feature.

The newly formed seven-piece band, which hasn't yet released any music, is also comprised of Shinee’s Taemin, NCT 127’s Taeyong and Mark, and WayV’s Ten and Lucas.

Numerous fan accounts on social media say that the rest of SuperM —  unofficially called the Avengers of K-pop — are expected to land in Dubai on Monday.

Kai and Baekhyun arrived in the Emirates fresh from Exo's current world tour, following a performance in the Philippines.

The duo are expected to still make music with Exo, a nine-piece band whose members all have solo careers on the side.

Exo are next set to perform in Singapore on Sunday, September 15, though SuperM is scheduled to make its music debut in October, SM Entertainment says.

Will Dubai be in the background of their first video? We'll have to wait another month or so to see.
