Palestinian DJ and electronic music producer Sama Abdulhadi, who goes by Sama’, returns to London for a second time this summer, following her sell-out show in June at Shubbak Festival, Europe's largest festival of contemporary Arab culture.

Sama’, the woman credited with bringing techno to Palestine, is playing in the British capital on Friday and showcasing some of the best DJs the Middle East has to offer.

Having burst onto the scene in 2006, when she started mixing at parties in Ramallah, Sama’ began producing a few years later, starting a musical career which has seen her perform at club nights and festivals across the globe.

Having instigated the first techno parties in the West Bank several years ago, Palestine now boasts a vibrant electronic music scene.

Techno fans will remember Sama's storming Boiler Room debut in 2018, which has almost three million views on YouTube and was the first time the online music platform broadcast from Palestine.

Now based in Paris, she will be travelling across the English Channel once more to headline a night of techno, house and other deeper sub-genres, organised by London-based production company MARSM, and featuring the best in the international electronic music scene.

Sama’ will be bringing along with her three of her favourite DJs from the region; Lebanese stars Jason Kaakoush and Rise 1969 as well as Tehran-born techno aficionado Anahita Shamsaei.

Sama’ Presents: Favourite DJs is on Friday 16 August at Electrowerkz, London
