After Lady Gaga vowed to never work with R Kelly again, fellow pop star Christina Aguilera has shown support for the hitmaker by thanking her for “doing the right thing”.

Uploading a photo of the two of them performing together on social media, Aguilera wrote: "Cool to see the version of this song I did with @ladygaga on the charts again — this is a reminder of women sticking together— and not letting a man take ownership of a great song / moment...”

Aguilera also opened up about her issues with past sexual predators:

On January 9, Gaga released a statement which said she would try to remove the song from streaming services. As of now, the duet track is no longer available on iTunes. "I stand behind these women 1,000 per cent, believe them, and know they are suffering and in pain, and feel strongly that their voices should be heard and taken seriously," she said in her social media post.

Just a day after making those comments, Billboard reported that the track saw a surge in sales, with 2,000 downloads - up from negligible numbers the previous day. The version with Aguilera also saw a sales spike.

Do What U Want was released in 2013 as part of Lady Gaga's Artpop album.
