In their hit single Year 3000, they claimed that "not much has changed but they live underwater", and Busted's new video continues on that nautical theme.

Set on sand, sea and amidst myriad tropical fish, the latest clip is an aquatic spectacle – and it was all shot right here in the UAE.

The video for the British pop-rock boy band's latest single was filmed in Dubai's Atlantis, The Palm, with the track, rather fittingly, entitled Shipwrecked in Atlantis.

The three-minute visual feast was released on the band's social media channels on Friday, shortly after the musical trio's gig at Dubai's Irish Village on March 14.

Busted, which consists of James Bourne, Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson, first formed in 2000, and enjoyed hits such as What I Go to School For and Crashed the Wedding before splitting in 2005. Each member went on to pursue separate musical careers, before reforming in 2015. Shipwrecked in Atlantis is taken from Busted's fourth studio album, Half Way There, which was released last month.

While the video is shot in Dubai, the song itself also references the city. "Having the best time of our lives, dining with Salt Bae every night," sing the band, giving a nod to Turkish chef Nusret Gokce, who famously owns restaurants across the UAE.

The accompanying video is filmed solely at the Atlantis, the five-star hotel located on the Palm Jumeirah.

Bourne, Willis and Simpson can be seen running along the venue's private beach, taking a pedalo across the Arabian Gulf and larking around in front of The Lost Chambers Aquarium in the clip. Other shooting locations include water park Aquaventure, as well as recently opened destination Wavehouse, which features an indoor arcade, restaurant and bowling alley.

"Had soooo much fun shooting this video out in Dubai ... think you might be able to tell," the band said, announcing the video.

Busted this week embarked on their Half Way There arena tour, kicking off a stream of performances in Glasgow on Saturday night, with further dates across the UK throughout March.
