After teasing new music last week, Lindsay Lohan's latest musical venture has landed. Electro-pop single Back to Me is available to stream online and a lyric video has been released on YouTube.
The song has been released under Republic Records, a division of a US record label under the Universal Music Group. Lohan signed with the label in 2019; it represents a number of notable pop artists, including Post Malone, Ariana Grande, The Jonas Brothers, James Blake, Jessie J and Taylor Swift, under distribution subsidiary Taylor Swift Productions Inc.
The earworm was written by Alma, Chiara Hunter and Mark Ralph, who also produced the track. Finnish singer / songwriter has co-written with Miley Cyrus and Grande; UK producer Ralph is the man behind hits for a host of household names, including Clean Bandit, Friendly Fires, Rudimental, Becky Hill, John Newman, Plan B and Take That.
It's never too late, Lohan sings
As the name suggests, the song is packed full of positive mantras.
"But I'm coming back, I'm coming back to me," Lohan, who spends much of her time in Dubai, sings over and over again. In the second verse she chants: "When life gets harder / And the mind gets darker / Remind myself, never too late / 'Cause I know that I got in too deep".
Will it light up the charts? That remains to be seen but it is certainly catchy. We challenge you not to repeat "Now I'm coming back to me" over and again to yourself after the first listen.
Lohan, 33, may best better known for her wild child antics and 2000s acting career, which included a string of hit movies, including Freaky Friday and Mean Girls, but this is not her first foray into music.
In 2004 she released a debut album, Speak, and 2005 follow-up A Little More Personal (Raw). In August 2019, she released Xanex, which she dropped during an interview with Kris Fade on UAE radio station, Virgin Radio Dubai.
