American Idol runner up Clark Beckham to perform music residency in Dubai
The soul singer is managed by legendary pop music producer Quincy Jones
Clark Beckham is the next artist in residence at Q’s Bar and Lounge.
The American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist will perform in the intimate venue, located at the Palazzo Versace Dubai, for a six-week stint beginning from January 9.
Born and raised in Nashville, the 25-year-old cut his teeth in the country music citadel having performed in street corners and local music haunts before taking part in the 2015 season of American Idol.
In addition to coming runner-up and gaining a nation-wide fan base, Beckham’s brand of blue-eyed soul caught the attention of veteran music producer Quincy Jones who went on to sign him under his artist management company.
While Beckham’s music pays homage to soul music greats such as Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, he prefers to describe his work as current as opposed to a throwback. “I really believe that I am modern,” he told the US press. “I think the best modern is when an artist can understand and play and do music that is coming right now, and is just on the brink. Just around the bend. Just coming alive. I really believe that. I really think that’s what’s going to come around the bend.”
Beckham will come to Dubai on the back of releasing his latest single I Need.
Clark Beckham performs at Q’s Bar and Lounge at Palazzo Versace Dubai from January 9 to February 17. For reservations, call 04 556 8888 or email email@example.com
