Next week’s Sunset Music Festival has been cancelled.

The event, which was due to take place at Zayed Sports City on April 19, was set to feature performances by UK acts Brian McFadden, Top Loader and Dodgy.

Those who purchased tickets were contacted by organisers for refunds.

Festival promoters Zayed Sports City confirmed that the event had been shelved due to unforeseen circumstances in a statement to The National.

“We are disappointed to confirm that Sunset Music Festival will not take place as anticipated,” the statement read.

“In the course of planning Sunset Music Festival, we have encountered challenges that prevent us from executing to the level our customers deserve. Those that purchased their tickets will be contacted directly with more information about their refund. We look forward to welcoming the community for many of the other great events, programs and activities taking place at Zayed Sports City throughout the year.”

The next event at Zayed Sports City is the Spartan Stadion Race, which has contestants making their way through a 5KM course packed with 20 obstacles. For details go to www.zsc.ae
