The Abu Dhabi F1 weekend closed with a roaring performance by The Killers.
The US rockers took to the du Arena stage for the prestigious race-day concert, almost a decade ago to the day since their last appearance in the capital. And they brought aspects of their native Las Vegas with them too.
Strutting on to the stage to classy horns of Frank Sinatra's Lucky Be a Lady, the group – which included a trio of backing souls vocalists - embarked on a greatest hits set.
Dressed in a sequined jacket, the slick haired frontman Brandon Flowers looked like he just came from the Sunset Strip.
His powerful voice easily moved from croon to wail, as he led the crowd through the band’s many tracks that went on to dominate modern rock radio over the decade.
So confident of their material, The Killers opened their set with the, well, killer, opening trio of Jenny was a Friend of Mine, Space Age and Somebody Told Me. The hits continued to roll on for what as another successful conclusion to the Abu Dhabi F1.
