The Arab Idol winner Mohammed Assaf has been nominated as Best Middle East Act for this MTV European Music Awards, held on November 9 in Glasgow.
The Palestinian star is nominated alongside the Saudi Arabian DJ and producer Omar Bassad, the Egyptian rockers Cairokee, the Tunisian singer Saad Lamjarred and the starlet Jana.
The regional stars join the superstar Katy Perry who leads the awards with seven nomination including Best US Act and Best Song for Dark Horse. Aria Grande follows with six nods while Pharrell Williams and 5 Seconds of Summer share five nominations each.
Fans have until 11.59 CST (3.59AM UAE time) on November 8 to cast their vote on vww.mtvema.com.
