Second half of Anurag Kashyap's epic drama of crime and revenge is one of the movies of the year.
Mirchi review: Faizal Khan outshines Gangs of Wasseypur 2 ensemble
The second half of the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's two-part crime thriller continues the revenge saga and starts after the death of a major character in the first instalment. It depicts the meteoric rise of the new protagonist Faizal Khan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), from a small-time drug dealer to becoming the mafia king of Wasseypur. Like the first part, Kashyap's story is rich in action and presents solid characterisation. But be advised: the violence, though deftly dramatised, can be quite repulsive at times. All said, the film belongs to the 38-year-old Siddiqui, who hands-down outshines the rest of the massive ensemble cast.
