Standing at 17 metres tall, the Burj Khalifa LEGO replica tower is the world’s tallest Lego building structure.

The tower, which is located in Legoland Dubai’s Miniland, took over 5,000 hours to build and consists of 439,000 Lego bricks. It weighs 1,000 kilograms.

Mohammed bin Ahmed Jaber Al Harbi, who made world headlines when he approached Queen Elizabeth for a hand shake at the Royal Ascot in 2015, was on hand to open the attraction and turn on the first of the structure’s LED lights.

The model will eventually include a recreation of the world famous fountain show at the real Burj Khalifa.

Legoland Dubai, aimed at families with children ages 2-12, is set to open on October 31. The mega park will consist of six themed lands — Lego City, Adventure, Kingdoms, Imagination, Factory and Miniland. The themed lands feature 5,000 Lego model structures made from over 60 million Lego bricks with 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions.

Legoland Dubai day tickets and annual passes are available now via www.legoland.ae and www.DubaiParksandResorts.com starting from Dh250 and Dh765 respectively.
