Yash Chopra gets statue

A statue of Yash Chopra was unveiled on Monday by his wife Pamela and son Uday. The statue of the Indian legend will be installed at the Walk of the Stars in Mumbai’s Bandra Bandstand Promenade tomorrow. “Yashji was a dreamer. He was a man who didn’t just make romantic movies or romanced cinema, he romanced life, with love as the most important ingredient,” said Pamela. “Yash Chopra has been, is and shall always be the King of Romance in my life and in the lives of his fans.” Chopra, who directed 22 films before passing away last October at the age of 80, joins statues of Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor and Dev Anand. – IANS

Aatma sequel is a go

Although the horror film Aatma is set for release next month, the director Supam Verma has said the sequel has already been planned. “It’s definitely happening,” he said at the trailer release of Aatma on Monday. The film stars Bipasha Basu and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. “I had met Nawazuddin and had told him that if he doesn’t decide to do the film, he should tell me who else would be able to do it,” said Verma. “He heard the script and said yes.” – IANS
