A “Hallyu” wave is about to hit the UAE – fans of Korean culture from around the Middle East are in for a treat this March when KCON makes its regional debut in Abu Dhabi – if they can get their hands on a ticket.

KCON 2016, organised by the Korea-headquartered CJ E&M media group, is a one-day cultural extravaganza that will be held at du Arena on Friday, March 25.

The convention, featuring all of Korea’s biggest and most popular cultural exports and phenomena – from soap operas to cosmetics – will be followed by performances by top K-Pop stars BTS, TaeYeon from Girls Generation, Kyuhyun from Super Junior, Double S 301, Monsta X and SPICA. The artists will also interact with local fans during meet&greet sessions before taking the stage.

While diamond class tickets, costing Dh900 per person, are already sold out, platinum tickets, Dh450, and gold tickets, Dh350, are still up for grabs.

KCON, which has previously been held in cities from Los Angeles and New York to Tokyo, was launched in California in 2012.
