Jay Wud is establishing himself as the supporting act of choice when big rockers perform in the UAE.

The Dubai based musician and his four piece put on a buoyant display last Thursday at Yas Island’s Du Arena to warm up the crowd for Guns’N’Roses.

According to our review Ellen Fortini, Jay Wud put on a blistering set including tracks from Wud’s latest release False Utopia, including the single Incomplete Heart.

"This is an act to watch," she said.

"Wud’s vocals are deep and expressive and bring Metallica’s James Hetfield to mind. The band plays old school hard rock with a dose of funk and the set got tighter as it went on."

Wud posted an image of the grinning band - including one alongside Gunners guitarist Bumblefoot - on Facebook, expressing his joy at the performance.

“This photo may give you a hint of how honored and happy we were supporting Guns N' Roses on Thursday, but even words can't describe how we felt,” he said in a statement.

“A big Thank-You to our supporters, our family from Red Bull ( Fouad , Abdo, Zena, Faraz, Jailan, & Marina), FLASH Entertainment , Guns N' Roses, Bumblefoot and most importantly our crew.”

Wud is about to embark on a regional tour with a Beirut stop set forSeptember 25. For details visit: www.jaywud.com
