Image Nation Abu Dhabi is to co-finance and executive produce a new movie from Nightcrawler writer/director Dan Gilroy, starring two-times Oscar winner Denel Washington.
The film will be the first project under Image Nation’s new partnership with the China International Communication Centre.
Previously known as Inner City, the movie tells the story of Los Angeles attorney Roman Israel (Washington), who is offered a job at a prestigious law firm following the death of his longtime partner, and takes on a case that has life-altering repercussions.
Gilroy wrote the screenplay and is directing the project, which is being produced by Jennifer Fox, Todd Black and Brian Oliver.
Image Nation and CICC are co-financing the film alongside Cross Creek Pictures and Macro and will serve as executive producers.

As with all our international projects, this film will help to subsidies and build our local industry here in Abu Dhabi — creating learning opportunities for local talent to work on world-class productions.”
Word is there's plenty more in the pipeline from Image Nation too. The company has just extended its long-term partnership with Hyde Park Entertainment, which has in the past resulted in movies such as The Double and Killing Hasselhoff, and has signed a new three-year, three-movie deal with masters of horror Roy Lee and Steven Schneider (Insidious, The Ring). Schneider previously worked with Image Nation on Ali F Mostafa's The Worthy.
