'I won't leave until I take you' – Lindsay Lohan uploads video of uncomfortable encounter with a refugee family

Lindsay Lohan has broadcast a bizarre video to Instagram, in which she approaches what appears to be a family of refugees and offers to pay for them to stay in a hotel room for the night.

The Instagram Live video, which was uploaded on Saturday night, shows Lohan repeatedly making the offer before following the family of four, whom Lohan describes as Syrian, down the street.

At one point, as the encounter becomes more hostile, Lohan accuses the parents of "trafficking", and says, “I won’t leave until I take you. Now I know who you are. Don’t [expletive] with me.”

At the end of the video, an altercation appears to take place between Lohan and the mother.

The video opens with the Mean Girls actress, 32, getting out of a car and walking towards the family, who are sitting under a blanket on the street. It is unclear where the video was filmed.

“Hey everyone, I just want to show you a family that I met,” she says, “a Syrian refugee family that I’m really worried about. They really need help.” Addressing the family, Lohan says, "Tell me your story, so I can help you [...] Do you want me to give you a hotel? I want you to tell America what you need and I will get it for you."

Speaking in English but occasionally using Arabic words, which the refugees do not appear to understand, Lohan continues: “You want to come with me? Come with me, I’ll take care of you guys." Turning to one of the young sons, Lohan says: "Do you want to stay in a hotel tonight? Do you want to watch movies? It would be so cool to watch a movie on a TV or a computer.

"You shouldn't be sleeping on the floor, do you understand that? You're a good little boy and this is not fair."

When the parents refuse to accept this offer, Lohan then says to the mother, "You should not have them [your sons] on the floor, you should be a hard-working woman and you should be doing what you [can] for your children, so they have a better life.

“If someone is offering them a home and a bed, which is me at this moment, give it to them. They will come back to you. I'm a good person. This is not right.

"You look tired and cold. You should never sleep on the floor. I will buy you a hotel room, I'll give you cash for a hotel. Come into my car and I will buy you a hotel room."

Lohan becomes more confrontational when the family get up and start walking away from her. She follows them, saying, "Look what’s happening, they’re trafficking children [...] You’re ruining Arabic culture by doing this.

"You’re taking these children, they want to go. I’m with you boys, don’t worry, the whole world is seeing this right now."

People on social media have been quick to condemn Lohan for her actions.
