At the back of the Halla Walla Khaleeji emoji app, the creators will also be launching a Pokemon Go-style augmented reality game in the coming months.

Users of the Wain Waleed game app will search for the Khaleeji characters created for the keyboard around town, and will be given an opportunity to win prizes as they unlock the different levels of the game.

“It’s an augmented reality game where our emoji will come alive,” says Yasmine Rasool, the co-founder of the free game that can be played all over the world. “You will have a leader board and can play with people around the world.”

In Dubai, however, they will be taking it a step further with corporate tie-ups for prizes and treasure hunts.

“As you progress in finding these emoji in real time, you will be able to access our sponsored prizes. We will also be working on treasure hunts with 3D emoji in the city that you will have to locate using a GPS.”
