R Madhavan goes to Hollywood
The Hollywood producer Simon West (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Con Air, Black Hawk Down) has roped in the Indian actor R Madhavan to star in the forthcoming horror re-imagining of George Romero’s 1968 film Night of the Living Dead, joining the likes of the veterans Tony Todds and Tom Sizemore. Titled Night of the Living Dead: Origins 3D, the film revolves around a group of survivors fighting to stay alive when a mysterious plague unleashes the undead in New York. “This movie represents a whole new way of visualising the classic zombie genre. It has a fresh and exciting style that sets it apart from all other horror films seen up until now,” said West. Madhavan, 43, said in a statement: “It’s a great introduction to American cinema, working with Simon West and his team. He’s made and continues to make some of the most exciting and thrilling films out of Hollywood. I am honoured to be working alongside him.” – The National staff
