Watch: Arnold Schwarzenegger drop-kicked during event in South Africa
The hardy 'Commando' star insisted he was fine, telling fans he was just glad 'the idiot didn’t interrupt my Snapchat'
He most famously warned his foes "I'll be back" in The Terminator, however, it's Arnold Schwarzenegger's back that needed watching at a recent event.
The actor and former politician was struck at a sporting get-together in South Africa on Saturday, with a man drop-kicking the star squarely in the back as he was filming a social-media video.
It takes more than that to faze the action-movie star, though, as Schwarzenegger swiftly assured fans he was uninjured.
"Thanks for your concerns, but there is nothing to worry about," the 71-year-old posted on Twitter shortly after the incident.
"I thought I was just jostled by the crowd, which happens a lot. I only realised I was kicked when I saw the video like all of you. I’m just glad the idiot didn’t interrupt my Snapchat."
Schwarzenegger was in Johannesburg to attend the Arnold Classic Africa, an event showcasing bodybuilding and other related sports that involve strength and combat techniques.
After the incident, the offender was quickly removed form the venue by security officials.
Commando star Schwarzenegger urged his fans to not share videos of his attacker, and instead circulate clips of the athletes showcasing their skills at the event.
"We have 90 sports here in South Africa ... and 24,000 athletes of all ages and abilities inspiring all of us to get off the couch," he wrote on Twitter.
"Let’s put this spotlight on them. And if you have to share the video (I get it), pick a blurry one without whatever he was yelling so he doesn’t get the spotlight.”
