Watch: animated film 'Catsaway' trailer released

The film, set in the Abu Dhabi of 1999, will feature much-loved old landmarks such as the Volcano Fountain and the Old Souq

A trailer was released on Monday for Catsaway - an animated movie about a group of street cats trying to find a home as Abu Dhabi rapidly expands around them.

The feature-length film by Emirati director Fadel AlMuhairi is being produced by Tent Pictures Productions, based at Abu Dhabi media hub twofour54, in cooperation with Juice Studios in Poland.

The film, set in the Abu Dhabi of 1999, will feature much-loved, old landmarks such as the Volcano Fountain and the Old Souq. The Clock Tower will play an important role too.

Maryam AlMheiri, Chief Executive Officer of Media Zone Authority – Abu Dhabi and twofour54, said of the director “Fadel is a long-standing member of our thriving media ecosystem at twofour54 and a wonderful example of the incredible creative talent that we are developing in Abu Dhabi as we realise our vision of being the Capital for content creators."

Catsaway is expected to get its theatrical release later this year.
