TikTok user creates a Wes Anderson-style guide to surviving a pandemic

It's a tongue-in-cheek survival guide, inspired by the director's very identifiable aesthetic

Style cues have perhaps been taken from Wes Anderson's character Margot Tenenbaum in TikTok user @in_too_deepmp3's 'Anderson Guide to Surviving a Global Pandemic'. TikTok

Wes Anderson has, arguably, the most instantly identifiable visual style of any modern director.

If you have seen The Darjeeling Limited, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Grand Budapest Hotel, you'll know the aesthetic well. Symmetry, actors shot front-on, monochromatic Art Noveau colours and a chapter-like structure all make up the Anderson style.

In his plots, there is always something of a crisis, whether micro or macro, which means the current global Covid-19 pandemic could be played out rather well in an Anderson movie, as one TikTok user, @in_too_deepmp3, proved.

Ticking all the boxes, we have rich colours, text on screen, a chapter-style, macro-drama (war, death and a pandemic), micro-drama (lunch and choosing a song to listen to "until nightfall") and vintage touches that somehow feel dateless. There is also a nod to the Anderson shoe-box sets, with the paper aeroplane.

"I tried to see if I could make this only using things I could find in my apartment," the TikTok user wrote.
