The launch of Sharqiah Season has brought a wealth of stars to Saudi Arabia, from Pitbull and Akon to French Montana and Amr Diab.

Among those making an appearance in the Kingdom this month was Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who jetted into the country this week for the Saudi Film Festival, which forms part of Saudi's arts-filled programme of events.

The Wanted star was a guest of honour at the cinematic spectacle, which kicked off on Thursday, March 21 and draws to a close on Tuesday, March 26.

Khan, 53, took part in An Evening With The Stars session in Ithra on Sunday, where he opened up about his film career and producing credits in front of a sold-out audience.

Held at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, the Indian actor also revealed some of his acting secrets, as he was interviewed by Raya Abirachid. The Sultan actor also revealed his earliest roles were limited to characters of lawyers and engineers, Saudi Gazette reports.

While thousands of fans gathered at the event, Khan also drew crowds off-stage, and was filmed being surrounded by fans by photo journalist Viral Bhayani.

Admirers swarmed the actor as he made his way to a waiting car, with security officers holding the crowd back.

Khan is soon set to appear on the silver screen in Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat, and was recently revealed to have been cast opposite Alia Bhatt in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 2020 movie, Inshallah.

The Saudi Film Festival has also welcomed Saudi Arabian producer Mohammed Al Turki as part of its itinerary, as well as Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr.
