The lead actors of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much-awaited Padmaavat thanked Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar for shifting his film Pad Man to February 9.
Pad Man is a biopic film inspired by the life of social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham who went on a mission to provide low-cast sanitary napkins machines to poor women in rural areas of India.
With Kumar moving the date back a week, this allows for Padmaavat to release without competition.
Actress Deepika Padukone who is playing the title role in the film, expressing her gratitude to Akshay, wrote on her Twitter:

The film features Padukone as Rani Padmavati along with Kapoor playing Maharawal Ratan Singh and Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji.
On , alongside the director Bhansali, Akshay announced the reschedule release date of his film. Respecting his gesture, Bhansali said, "I will be grateful to Akshay for a lifetime."
Padmavaat is releasing on January 25 while Pad Man is released on February 9
