Mission Impossible: Fallout release date announced for UAE cinemas
twofour54 confirms the July release with a tweet
Action movie fans who like a slice of Abu Dhabi on the big screen need to get their calendars out - the release date for Mission Impossible: Fallout has been announced.
twofour54 revealed on Twitter that the blockbuster film starring Tom Cruise will be here on July 27.
The spectacular stunts filmed in the UAE were wrapped in secrecy except for the odd glimpse posted on social media by director Christopher McQuarrie. What we do know is that they involved planes and skydiving, and if they prove as exciting as Cruise's efforts in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, when he was filmed clambering up Burj Khalifa in Dubai, then viewers will be in for a treat.
McQuarrie announced the conclusion of filming in March after 161 days, and paid tribute to a number of organisations in the UAE for their assistance.
Cruise too tweeted in March when filming had finished and thanked "the amazing cast crew and people of Abu Dhabi".
He tweeted the official trailer to the film too, which you can see here:
Abu Dhabi has been hosting a number of other action film productions in recent months.
Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Anil Kapoor have been pictured on the set of Race 3 in the UAE capital. The third edition of the popular Bollywood action franchise is due to hit cinemas around the time of Eid.
Another Indian movie, Saaho, wrapped 50 days of filming in Abu Dhabi last week. It involved around 250 crew and 37 vehicles and is set to be the second most expensive Indian movie ever made when it releases in 2019.
