Meghan and Beyonce's hug and 24 other photos from 'The Lion King' London premiere
The A-listers met publicly for the first time on the red carpet for the Disney live-action remake
A royal of the music industry came face to face with a royal of Great Britain last night, as Beyonce Knowles-Carter and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex finally met in the flesh.
The royal and the Grammy winner shared a hug on the red carpet on Sunday night, as they attended the London premiere of The Lion King.
Prince Harry and Meghan, who welcomed their son Archie in May, stepped out to watch a screening of the live-action remake of the Disney classic, in which Beyonce stars.
The couple met the Single Ladies singer and her husband, Jay-Z, at the Odeon in Leicester Square, with the group enjoying a length chat.
According to The Daily Mail, mother-of-four Beyonce congratulated Prince Harry and Meghan on the birth of their first child, while Jay-Z told the couple to "always find time for themselves".
The Duchess of Sussex donned a Jason Wu dress for the occasion, with a sheer neckline and knee-skimming hem, while Beyonce stepped out in a golden, custom Cong Tri gown.

While Sunday marked the first time the two met, Beyonce has previously paid tribute to former actress Markle, accpeting a Brit Award in front of a portrait of the Suits star earlier this year.
“In honour of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas,” the singer captioned an Instagram shot of the moment. “Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy.”
The Halo stars also paid homage to Prince Harry and Meghan's May 2019 wedding on her website, telling fans the couple "have continued to push the race relations dialogue forward both near and far."
The superstars were joined on the night by others cats members from The Lion King, including Seth Rogen, director Jon Favreau, Billy Eichner and Florence Kasumba. Elton John, who penned songs for the 1994 original animation was also in attendance, as well as Rocketman actor Taron Egerton and Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel.
Prince Harry and Meghan attended the premiere in support of Disney's Protect the Pride initiative, a global campaign launched by the company to support efforts protecting a diminishing lion population across Africa."
"As a part of their commitment to this cause, Disney also made a donation to The Duke of Sussex’s upcoming environment and community initiative which will be formally announced this autumn," an Instagram post on the Sussex Royal account detailed.
"The Duke and Duchess are committed to advancing conservation efforts across Africa and around the world, and working with communities to ensure a sustainable future for the planet."
The Lion King is scheduled to be released in the UAE on July 19.
