Here's what Lena Headey made per minute for 'Game of Thrones' final season
Spoilers ahead: Known for playing the villainous Cersei Lannister, Headey was reportedly paid $1.2 million per episode
Blink and you might have missed her but Cersei Lannister (played by Lena Headey) has barely had much screen time in the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones.
For those not caught up on the latest episode, some spoilers are below.
Spoiler alert: As her character perished in the penultimate episode titled The Bells, most fans of the show were a bit surprised to see her demise so swiftly. It seems that those who were hoping to see more of her are out of luck.
She had a couple of scenes in the first episode but was absent in episodes two and three (as they took place mostly in Winterfell) and then had a couple of lines at the end of episode four before her death in episode five.
The final season of Game of Thrones has a running time of 434 minutes and Headey’s character had appeared in only 25 minutes across three episodes.
Despite the lack of screen time, Fox News calculates that Headey still received quite the hefty pay day. She got paid $1.2million (Dh4.4m) per episode meaning she made an impressive $48,000 (Dh176,280) per minute of screen time.
After the episode aired, Headey also took to social media to pay tribute to her fallen character, writing: “There she goes. It’s been fun, and bonkers. I loved her. I am grateful for the opportunity. Massively thankful for your encouraging and supportive love along the way. And now her watch is ended (I know she’d never make it, Nights watch wouldn’t have her ... but still ...)”
The final episode of Game of Thrones will have a run time of 80 minutes and air on Monday, May 20 in the UAE.
