Everyone's favourite creepy family are set to return this year as The Addams Family gets an animated reboot.

The first trailer for the new take on the classic 1960s TV series has been released, and features the whole family, including Gomez and Morticia Addams, voiced by Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron, and children Wednesday and Pugsley, portayed by Chloe Grace Moretz and Finn Wolfhard.

The all-star cast also features Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, and Bette Midler as Grandmama.

The initial trailer gives little clue as to the movie’s plot, but will serve as a dose of nostalgia for fans of the original cartoons, as the famous theme tune returns for this new take.

The Addams Family is directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan, who said the film will take from the original Charles Addams New Yorker cartoons, and will tell the story of how the family came to be.

“Every family is different, but some families are more different than others,” the narrator says in the trailer.

The Addams Family is set to be released in October.

It follows in the footsteps of several live-action films revolvig around the fictional  family made in the 1990s, which starred Anjelica Huston as Morticia and Christina Ricci as Wednesday.
