Exclusive footage from behind the scenes of the Race 3 shoot in Abu Dhabi has been released on the twofour54 YouTube channel.

The video features on location interviews with the cast and crew, including Bollywood icon Salman Khan, as they reflect on the experience of filming the latest instalment of the Bollywood blockbuster franchise in the Emirate earlier this year.

Khan also shot Tiger Zinda Hai in Abu Dhabi last year, and says in the video: "We got everything that we wanted. It was beautiful, peaceful, no disturbances, we do really good work in Abu Dhabi… it was a great experience."

His view was echoed by the film’s director, Remo D’Souza, who adds: “The richness, the scale… everything for the film, we got here in Abu Dhabi, and everything was provided by twofour54.”

The action thriller is the latest major international production to be shot in Abu Dhabi, filming at nine locations over 23 days. The new footage shows the stars at Abu Dhabi landmarks such as Emirates Palace, Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi, Emirates Steel, Nation Towers, Falcon Aviation, Leaf Tower, Mussafah, Liwa Desert, and Adnec.

Abu Dhabi is no stranger to action shoots - renowned Hollywood stunt director Tom Struthers returning to Abu Dhabi after working on Tiger Zinda Hai last year. Struthers again relied on the help of the UAE Armed Forces, working closely with them for the exciting action sequences.

Race 3 features incredible machines, including a helicopter from Falcon Aviation, a Bugatti Veyron and Ferraris, to shoot high-octane action scenes as they race through the Liwa desert under Struthers watchful eye.

The setting for the action is an integral part of the movie, as Anil Kapoor explains: “The scale that Abu Dhabi has got, the sand dunes, they look very cinematic, they look absolutely beautiful. The action scenes look even more special.

The crew also benefited from the expertise of the UAE Armed Forces, who supplied a Blackhawk helicopter, Oshkosh trucks, NIMR military vehicles, and Humvees for the production.

Meanwhile, twofour54 provided full production services as well as the support of its Government and Travel Services department. Four interns also had the experience of working on the shoot, which benefited from the 30 per cent rebate on production spend from Abu Dhabi Film Commission.

Race 3 was produced by Salman Khan Films & Tips Industries Ltd. It had its cinematic release on June 15, 2018.

It is the fifth Bollywood movie to be shot in Abu Dhabi, following Tiger Zinda Hai, Dishoom, Bang Bang and Baby.
