American comedian and actress Amy Schumer and American model and actress Emily Ratajkowski were among the hundreds of people detained by Capitol Police on Thursday, as they protested against the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh. According to the Associated Press, more than 300 people had been arrested.
Both Schumer and Ratajkowski appeared together in the comedy film I Feel Pretty (2018).
Politically vocal
Schumer has been very vocal about her stand against Kavanaugh's nomination as the next Supreme Court Justice.
In a tweet yesterday, Ratajkowski also said that she was protesting Kavanaugh's nomination because of the sexual assault accusations "by multiple women."
"Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power," she wrote.
The US Senate is expected to take a vote today on whether to advance Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court.
