A selection of award-winning Arabic short films have been released on OSN Streaming application, the service provider announcement in a statement.

From Mehdi Fleifel's A Drowning Man which won the Silver Bear at the Berlinale to Jimmy Keyrouz's Nocturne in Black, which won Best Narrative at the Student Academy Awards in 2016, the films bring some of the best work by independent filmmakers in the UAE, Bahrain, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Algeria and Tunisia.

The 32 shorts have previously screened at some of the world's top international film festivals, including Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Toronto and others.

"Independent movies are often limited to special screenings and film festivals, so we are proud to be able to bring this form of art to viewers in the region and to champion these skilled Arab filmmakers by showcasing over 30 of their short films on our platform, on both OSN Yahala Cinema (television channel) and OSN’s streaming app,” said Rolla Karam, Interim Chief Content Officer at OSN.
