The film will be produced by Akhtar and his partner Ritesh Sidhwani under their home banner Excel Entertainment Pvt Ltd, and is currently at the scripting stage. “SRK is doing the film. We are not sure when it will go on floors exactly but it will be next year. Shah Rukh is excited about the film but we need to work out the schedule as he has prior commitments,” Sidhwani said. As for Don 3, the makers want to be sure that they have an exciting script in hand. “With a franchise like Don and the character, it’s important to get excited by the script. We want to be happy with the script – if that happens, I would love to do it,” he added. Sidhwani said other films in the pipeline include Fukrey 2 and Abhishek Kapoor’s Rock On 2.

Sreeram Chandra lost 15kg for film debut
The singer Sreeram Chandra, who makes his debut in Telugu cinema with the romantic drama Prema Geema Jantanai, has lost 15kg for the role. Chandra, who was the winner of the fifth season of Indian Idol, said it was challenging, but his passion for acting inspired him. “I enjoy singing, but I always aspired to be an actor. I still remember how many scripts I turned down before finally saying yes. Besides an acting workshop, I enrolled for kick-boxing,” he said. The film, which also features Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Barbie Handa, is directed by Subbu R V.
