Earth Wind and Fire’s Al McKay is set to to open the Dubai Jazz Festival.

The disco stalwart, performing under the name the Al McKay Allstars, will hit Dubai Festival City Park on February 13. Ticket holders to all the festival’s other main gigs (on February 14 and 19-20) receive free entry on the night.

McKay has been enlisted to replace grunge rockers Stone Temple Pilots who cancelled all their international concert dates indefinitely last week. Performing with his cracking 14-piece band, McKay has been a live favourite on the global jazz festival circuit, with a set-list featuring Earth Wind and Fire hits like Boogie Wonderland and Shining Star.

Tickets begin from Dh350 at www.ticketmaster.ae.
