Observant party people might have already guessed it from his like-clockwork UAE performances, but now we know for sure — David Guetta lives in Dubai.
We heard it from the man himself, who proudly announced "I'm a Dubai resident", during an exclusive interview with The National.
Where? You guessed it — Dubai Marina.
“I come quite often to Dubai, more to have a chilled kind of life, when I want to rest a little bit,” he told us.
It certainly makes sense for the French super-producer to have a crash pad in the country, where he plays annually without fail. Recent appearances include gigs on Atlantis Beach in December 2014 and May 2013, and at Creamfields Abu Dhabi in 2010 and 2012.
He’ll be back to ring in 2016 with a New Year’s Eve gig for Peppermint, conveniently next door to his ‘hood at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.
“I am definitely coming with the intention of doing a killing,” said Guetta. (Perhaps he meant “making a killing”? Reported net worth: $60 million).
“I’m very happy, because I’m a Dubai resident so for me it means a lot to spend my first New Year’s Eve here.
“For me to have this great party, that’s going to be a huge celebration, it means a lot to me and I’m very excited about it.”
Guetta, 48, also shared his thoughts on the long-awaited new Adele record, 25, which is being billed as the biggest event in pop music this year.
“Oh my god, it’s so amazing,” he raved. “I’m a big fan, absolutely, it’s crazy. I made my own little bootleg of it so I can play it.
“I would love to work with her, that would be fantastic.”
