The Creativity Corner is devoted to capturing the imagination of young readers, thinkers and doers at this year’s fair, with a programme especially designed for children from 6 to 12 in mind. Activities include author readings and storytelling, drama, puppet shows, expert educational workshops, kids’ health and well-being workshops, road safety, science experiments, the environment and handicrafts. There’s also an expanded programme designed for children with special educational needs.

Children’s authors from around the world are well represented, for example: on Wednesday at 10.30am, Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan will read from the works of the Emirati writer Reem Al Mutwali; on Thursday at 10am, Nayla Ejjeh, a teacher and writer from Lebanon, will perform What is the Origin of Margarita Pizza, a puppet show in French; on Thursday at 10.30am, little girls’ favourite Stacy Gregg will read from The Princess and the Foal, a tale inspired by the real-life story of the Olympic horse rider Princess Haya bint Al Hussein of Jordan; and, also on Thursday at 11.30am, the Indonesian author Andrea Hirata will read from his best-selling autobiographical novel, The Rainbow Troops, with a musical accompaniment.

Events for younger readers will take place at The Tent, Signatures, the Discussion Sofa and Knowledge Square.
