Many of the UAE's citizens and residents have been encouraged to stay indoors to stem the spread of Covid-19, with malls, restaurants and public spaces closed to the public.

Among those practising social distancing or self-isolation are some of the country's biggest names, from best-selling singers to social media stars.

Huda Kattan

The mogul revealed last week that she would be posting less beauty content on her social media channels, and instead sharing "positive content related to happiness and togetherness".

"I’ve been feeling so much anxiety and knowing that we can unite to help each other shows how beautiful we can be together," Kattan, founder of Huda Beauty, wrote on Instagram.

The entrepreneur, 36, also revealed that she and the Huda Beauty team had been working from home, following news that someone in their office building had been diagnosed with Covid-19.

"We're been cooking, decluttering, and we've been watching a lot of Friends because it keeps us happy," she revealed in a video describing how her family had been spending time in self-quarantine.

Kattan has also uploaded a fun video with her husband, Chris, and daughter, Nour, in which they test out their make-up skills.

On Tuesday, Kattan also launched a competition in a bid to support freelance make-up artists around the world, whose work has been affected by lockdown measures.

"I want to kick-start the way that we’re giving back by shining a spotlight on some amazing make-up artists and giving cash to some MUAs who may be struggling right now, Kattan revealed in a video, adding that Huda Beauty would be donating $1,000 (Dh3,672) to 100 make-up artists.

Mona Kattan

Huda's sister Mona, co-founder of Huda Beauty and perfume line Kayali, has also been practising social distancing. While the 34-year-old hasn't shared many glimpses of her home life on social media, she has been posting several motiviation quotes to keep her fans feeling uplifted.

"May we all come out of this kinder, more compassionate and more thoughtful. May we all be reminded of what’s truly important and recentre ourselves to prioritise what matter most." she wrote on Instagram last week. May we all bring back the humanity to humans. Never lose hope! We got this."

Mona also urged her 2.2 million followers to stay home this week and "protect each other".

Lindsay Lohan

The American actress, 33, urged her followers to stay home in an Instagram post over the weekend, as the UAE called on all residents to stay inside unless "absolutely necessary".

The Mean Girls star shared a selfie from indoors, with the backdrop appearing to show Downtown Dubai.

On her Instagram Stories, Lohan shared a look at how she's been spending her time while practising social distancing.

On Monday evening, the actress made tacos and enchiladas, and also revealed she'd been watching reality TV show The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Karen Wazen Bakhazi

The influencer and social media star has been sharing a daily glimpse into life under lockdown. Wazen Bakhazi, a mum of three, and her husband, Elias, have been staying at home since March 13, and offering daily clips and images showing how they're entertaining their children.

"With the coronavirus pandemic spreading really quickly across the globe we have decided as a family to isolate ourselves and stay home and stay safe," she told her 2.7 million Instagram followers.

Cue a lot of dancing, cooking videos and Tiktok challenges.

The Emirati singer hasn't been sharing a peek at what she's been up to day to day, but she has been sharing been sharing key message and videos from government bodies.

Hussain Al Jassmi 

The Boushret Kheir star has also been sharing plenty of health advisories and government messages with his 3.4 million Instagram followers. From the UAE's medical support phone numbers to ways to protect yourself against Covid-19, the Emirati singer has become a key figure encouraging preventative measures and self-quarantining in the UAE.

Balqees

The Emirati singer has also been urging her fans to stay home, uploading several TikTok videos showing how she's spending her time in self-quarantine. Among them is the above fitness clip, where she gave a glimpse at how she's been working out while indoors.
