The third in the series - sets out its stalls early on for the lead spot on the Formula One simulation starting grid
Codemasters' F1 2012
PS3, Xbox 360, PC
Another year, another F1 game from Codemasters. That's not to say it's a bad thing, of course, and this - the third in the series - sets out its stalls early on for the lead spot on the Formula One simulation starting grid (the only racing analogy we'll be using), with some outstanding realism in the handling (the banned diffusers have now gone) and heavy emphasis on grip and tyre wear.
For those less obsessive about absolute authenticity, there are nice touches such as the Young Drivers' Test for newcomers and another game mode which gives you the opportunity to challenge the current champions rather than take up an entire career.
The multiplayer side has also been expanded and now up to 16 players can take part. Just don't get upset when you're being lapped by a toddler in Hong Kong.
