Stan Lee, the Marvel Comics legendary writer and creator of Spider-Man, The Hulk, Thor, The Avengers (and the undisputed holder of the prize for Most Cameo Appearances in Marvel Movies) will be holding a video conference at the Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) in April.

Announcing the news on Dubai 92 today, MEFCC’s organiser Ben Caddy said: “He’s an absolute legend. He’s created our entertainment of the last 40 or 50 years and to ask him that one question you’ve always wanted to know is quite an exciting thing.”

Other highlights of this year’s event, which has moved to a bigger venue at Dubai World Trade Centre following last year’s success, include the global premiere of Blades of Hope, a new female-centred martial arts graphic novel from Jabal Entertainment. Jabal’s founder Sohaib Awan is well known to the region’s comic fans as the host of the Fictional Frontiers radio show and launched his own Jinnrise series (IDW Publishing) at last year’s MEFCC.

Visitors will be able to challenge Darth Vader to a Rock, Paper, Scissors game at the show’s Challenge Annekin stand, while the rapidly growing guest list includes stars such as the former Dr Who, Sylvester McCoy, V for Vendetta co-creator David Lloyd, and the actor, director and Family Guy creator Seth Green.
