It's not just thrills and partying - the Formula One race also brings opportunities for learning - including a session with the former head of marketing for McLaren, Mark Gallagher.

The Abu Dhabi F1 race offers not just thrills, but also opportunities to learn.

Tomorrow two separate talks on Yas Island aim to highlight lessons that motor sport can teach entrepreneurs and the wider -community.

Mark Gallagher will shed light on his experience as the former marketing head of the Jordan racing team at the Crowne Plaza Yas Island (tickets are Dh2,500 from www.innoverto.com. From 9am-12.30pm).

“F1 can has things you can learn from both a cultural and practical aspect,” he says. “Examples are working together
in a team on an incredibly complex project and how to set a clear vision.”

Later that evening the Yas Viceroy will host a free session with the Austrian author and former motor-sport journalist Judith Hornok, who will discuss her book Modern Arab Women: The New Generation of the United Arab Emirates (available at Virgin).
