Pink Floyd album turns 40

Pink Floyd’s album Dark Side of the Moon turns 40 today and the band’s website has developed an interactive feature where fans can help turn a specially designed moon on the site dark. Fans are invited to play the classic album on PinkFloyd.com then tweet their memories or photos using #DarkSide40. The collective tweets will darken a side of the moon on the site, said EMI Music. Nearly as iconic as the best-selling album’s ethereal compositions is the cover artwork of a prism by Storm Thorgerson, who has created 14 new prism designs that will be unveiled on PinkFloyd.com.  The designs will eventually form a celebratory poster that can be downloaded. – Reuters
