Bollywood singer Caralisa Monteiro will celebrate Diwali with her UAE fans by hosting a free concert – at DXB airport.
In what is likely to one of the most memorable stage settings in her 15-year career, the popular playback singer will perform in Concourse B at 11pm, on October 30.
The novel move is the latest in Dubai Airports’s ongoing MusicDXB series, which see musicians entertain travellers passing through Dubai International Airport.
The performances also reach up to two million fans via Dubai Airports’s social media channels.
Dubbed the “Queen of Soul”, Caralisa is renowned for her versatile mix of Bollywood and Western singing styles, and has worked with some of the industry’s biggest music names including AR Rahman, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar, Illayaraja and R Balki.
“Caralisa is a powerhouse on stage, renowned amongst Bollywood fans for her soulful vocals and stage presence, so she was the obvious choice for our Diwali celebrations,” said Helen Mellor-Mitchell Dubai Airports’ VP of media and brand engagement.
“We cannot wait to see Caralisa on our dedicated stage, entertaining passengers and lighting up the airport for this very special festival.”
