Sting, Rihanna, Mars to sing at Grammys
Sting, Rihanna and Bruno Mars will hit the stage for a special performance at next week's Grammys. They will perform together at the February 10 awards show, which will also feature Kelly Clarkson and the previously announced performers Maroon 5, Elton John and Taylor Swift. Damon guest stars on House of Lies
Matt Damon is becoming a TV comedy regular. He will guest star next week on the Showtime series House of Lies. He'll play what the network called a "maniacal megastar" version of himself, starring opposite Don Cheadle, his cast mate in Ocean's Eleven. Damon recently staged a mock takeover of Jimmy Kimmel's talk show, tying Kimmel to a chair and acting as host for a night. Shakira shows first baby photo
Shakira is sharing the first public photograph of her recently born baby, with the father Gerard Pique planting a kiss on his son's cheek. The Colombian singer said on Twitter that the photo of "my two angels" could be seen on the website of Unicef. She has urged people to donate to a baby shower on behalf of needy children. Fall Out Boy ends three-year break
Fall Out Boy has unveiled plans for a new album and world tour, three years after the pop punk band's four members announced a hiatus to pursue solo projects. "This isn't a reunion," they said on their website, "because we never broke up." The new album, Save Rock and Roll, will be available on May 6. "When we were kids, the only thing that got us through most days was music," said the band. "We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us. Wild Thing singer dies at 71
Reg Presley, the lead singer of British 1960s rock band The Troggs, died at age 71 on Monday. Presley, whose hits include Wild Thing and Love Is All Around, announced a year ago he was battling lung cancer and would retire from the band. "He was one very real person in a sometimes very unreal world," said the music journalist Keith Altham, a close friend of Presley's. - AFP
