Ben Affleck joined Twitter last Wednesday to raise awareness about Congo. "Timing feels right to bring awareness to what's happening in #Congo and to share my stories from this part of the world," read his first tweet. He also used Twitter to promote a Washington DC appearance to speak about child mortality in Congo. The host Jimmy Kimmel tweeted: "Be still my heart. @BenAffleck is on Twitter." To which Affleck replied: "Thanks @JimmyKimmel - Be kind. I'm new."

Stage collapse before Radiohead concert kills one and injures three

A massive stage collapse hours before a Radiohead concert in Toronto on Saturday left a man dead and three others injured. Police said the crew were setting up when the structure fell. Radiohead posted on Twitter: "Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight's concert at Downsview Park has been cancelled." The band's website had listed the concert as being sold out, with 40,000 tickets purchased. * AP

Danny Boyle reveals details of Olympics opening

The Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle says the opening ceremony of the London Olympics will not only feature a performance by Paul McCartney, but also "12 horses, 10 chickens, nine geese and 70 sheep" grazing in the stadium, as part of an evening titled Isles of Wonder, he told The Hollywood Reporter. There will also be "real grass, soil and clouds that would supply 'rain' if there is none on the night to ensure an authentic British atmosphere".

Madonna tour demands revealed

In her current MDNA world tour, Madonna travels with a 200-person entourage, including 30 bodyguards, personal chefs, a yoga instructor and an acupuncturist, reports In Touch magazine. A member of the musician's camp also revealed Madonna required 20 international phone lines in her dressing room and will only sleep in a hotel room decorated with her own furniture. "She requires all furniture be removed from the rooms and replaced with pieces she has shipped in," said the insider.

Woody Allen dines with Lindsay Lohan

Woody Allen revealed on the TV show Access Hollywood he held a dinner meeting with Lindsay Lohan in New York last month. When asked whether he's planning to do a film with the actress, Allen replied: "No, but I wouldn't hesitate to use her because she's a very talented girl. That was a social dinner. But if I had something, I'd certainly call her." Allen is currently promoting his new film To Rome with Love.
