It’s not often Fujairah gets a lot of love on The Art Blog, so if you are heading to the coast this weekend to enjoy some seaside time, why not make a trip to Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort to see the in-house exhibition that is up at the moment.
The show features work by American artist Gabriel Dishaw, who calls himself a junk artist and who gathers material such as old wood, wire and metal and makes sculptures. The pieces in this exhibition are modelled on the Star Wars villain Darth Vader and are a quirky find in this otherwise art-starved emirate.
Also on show are paintings by Indian artist Vijit Pillai who creates mixed media pieces from photographs and pieces of textile.
