As part of the Dubai International Film Festival, Amr Diab will headline a concert at Burj Park, Downtown Dubai, on December 6, presented by Rolling Stone Middle East. The event will feature Diab among a host of other acts, as well as a live feed of all the red-carpet action on DIFF's opening night at Madinat Jumeirah. Doors open at 4pm, tickets cost from Dh350 and can be purchased from www.virginmegastore.ae.
Shruti Haasan attacked at her front door
Shruti Haasan was attacked on Tuesday morning at her residence by a man who had been stalking her for awhile, a source close to the actress said. "The stranger has been following her ever since she started shooting for Ramaiya Vastavaiya. Three days ago, he had also come on the set of her latest film. At the moment, she is very stressed and for her safety, she has moved to her friend's place," the source said, adding that Haasan was attacked when she answered the doorbell. The actor, though shocked, "fought and pushed her attacker out".
Bieber controversy continues as Mexican president denies meeting the singer
Mexico's president has denied a tweet by Justin Bieber saying that the singer met with the president and his family before a show. President Enrique Peña Nieto's office put out a tweet on Monday that read: "@Presidenciamx denies meeting between President @EPN with the singer @justinbieber". That was a response to a tweet from Bieber's official account: "just met some amazing mexican beliebers and the presidente of mexico and his familia". It's the latest sour note in Bieber's controversy-filled Latin American tour. The 19-year-old pop sensation faces two criminal complaints and demands for refunds in Argentina, in addition to trouble with police for allegedly spraying graffiti in Brazil.
Pakistan fines television networks with too much Indian and foreign content
Ten television entertainment channels in Pakistan have been slapped with a fine of 10 million Pakistani rupees (Dh341,500) each for broadcasting excessive Indian and foreign content, reported Pakistan's The News on Monday. The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority imposed the fine on the channels and issued warning letters, the report said. It quoted a document from the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage that said the local channels were broadcasting excessive Indian content, more than the "prescribed limits".
Kelly Clarkson announces pregnancy
Kelly Clarkson says she's expecting her first child. The 31-year-old singer posted on Twitter on Tuesday that she and her husband Brandon Blackstock are expecting their first child together. The original American Idol champion said in her tweet that the baby is the "best early Christmas present ever".
