Amitabh Bachchan has been in the business for six decades, and this week he showed off his support for 'girl power' by proudly wearing a hoodie with the slogan that was given to him by his daughter, designer Shweta Bachchan Nanda.
This isn't the first time Bachchan has stood up for ladies: last year he read an open letter to his daughter via a video on Facebook, saying:
"Both of you may be a Nanda or a Bachchan, but you are also girls ... women! And because you are women, people will force their thinking, their boundaries on you. They will tell you how to dress, how to behave, who you can meet and where you can go. Don't live in the shadows of people's judgment. Make your own choices. Don't let anyone make you believe that the length of your skirt is a measure of your character. This may be a difficult, difficult world to be a woman. But I believe that it is women like you that will change that."

Bachchan also starred as a lawyer aiding women pressing charges for sexual abuse in 2016's Pink. Pink tells the story of three men and three women who meet at a rock concert in the outskirts of New Delhi. The women turn down the men's advances and end up being accused of murder. They are assisted in the court battle that follows by their neighbour, Deepak Sehgal (Bachchan), a once-successful lawyer who was forced to retire due to bipolar disorder.
Bachchan Nanda and Monisha Jaising are due to launch their luxury fashion brand MxS World on September 1, and who best to use to promote it than Bollywood's number one man? Especially easy when he's your father. The brand will target women of all ages and all sizes.
Bachchan showed off the black hoodie that says "Girl power" in sparkly pink on his Instagram saying "Girl Power ... the hoodie from #mxsworld ... especially made for me by the girl power of the house ... Shweta."
The 75-year-old actor is currently filming Brahmastra.
