World record for largest swimming lesson set at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Waterworld

A record number of 777 swimmers participated in the winning lesson at the Abu Dhabi waterpark, beating out 32,450 competitors from 432 venues across 13 countries.

Yas Waterworld has made a huge splash in the competitive world of record breaking.

It has set the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson.

A record number of 777 swimmers participated in the winning lesson at the Abu Dhabi waterpark, beating out 32,450 competitors from 432 venues across 13 countries.

The lesson took place on June 18 this year and focused on the importance of water safety and how to prevent drowning, which is the the second leading cause of unintended, injury-related death for children aged one to 14.

“Yas Waterworld is a place for firsts,” said Park General Manager Mike Oswald. “In developing the waterpark, our vision was to create a dynamic family-friendly entertainment venue that is as exciting as it is inclusive. Breaking the Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is testament to how that vision has been, and will continue to be realised.”

Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi is the UAE’s first mega waterpark, set across 15 hectares, offering 43 rides, slides and attractions.
