Large fire destroys parked vehicles near Dubai Creek

A fire has destroyed several heavy goods vehicles that were parked near Baniyas Marine Transport Station on Sunday morning.

Footage of the blaze posted on social media showed plumes of thick black smoke billowing out into the surrounding area of Deira.

No one was injured in the blaze that broke out at about 10.30am close to the Abra terminals of Dubai Creek on Baniyas Street.

Fire crews from the Al Ras Civil Defence Centre were dispatched to the scene to extinguish four burning trucks, putting out the fire at about 10.50am.

The cause of the incident is not yet known.
